Hello, I’m Mandy, CO-Owner of the Funky Pineapple. I’m here to tell you a little about us and how we got to be where we are.

My business partner, Susie and I have been friends for over 50 years and have lived in the South our entire lives. We both have a lot of love for Southern Traditions and Elegance, as well as Southern Charm and Southern Class.

It started in 2014. It was proving to be a financially difficult year for the both of us and we were both trying to figure out what we could do to change that. We were having lunch one day when Susie asked me if I had ever heard of a website called Poshmark. She explained the gist of it to me; how it works and what would need to be done to get it started. With nothing really to lose, these two broke girls decided to make a go of it, and “Two Broke Girls” created a closet on Poshmark.

We did (and still do) well on Posh and learned a lot about buying and selling online. The in’s and out’s, the do’s and don’ts. And since I am the fashion Guru and Susie the Organizational Genius, we stay on track and have found ourselves growing.

In 2017, we decided to build and launch our very own website with a new name. We wanted a name that was fitting yet would represent us and our Southern Personalities. The Pineapple immediately came to mind, since in the South the pineapple is welcoming, and symbolizes hospitality, warmth and friendship. It is important to us to always share these qualities with our customers and anyone with whom we may do business with.

I would love to be able to tell you a cute little story of how we came up with “funky”, but there isn’t one to tell. However, since we both have funky personalities, “Funky Pineapple” was born.

Susie and I both had Grandmothers who wore tweed suits with matching shoes and handbags, every day of their lives. They could never accept the styles of today, but they were Southern “Ladies” and very sweet so, they never said a word about it. However, they wore the disapproval upon their faces.

We carry a variety of styles while sticking to our Southern Roots. A little but Southern, a little bit Funky. We have an unconditional love for the past and how true “Southern Ladies” dressed and carried themselves.

Thanks for stopping by,

Hope to see y’all back again soon!
